I think it's VERY fair to say that this video is not 100% unbiased. However, I also think it's time some of the kids who just jump on the "FREE TIBET!!11!ONE!!" bandwagon for the sake of it should settle down and gain a better understanding of the political/historical/religious background of this matter. I'm not sure where I stand on this dilemma, but I do know it's a lot more complicated than China being a commie bully with a thirst for blood.
I guess I just want some people to see how strong the opposite argument can be aswell. Don't forget that "Free Tibet" facebook groups are really just cheap propaganda at its best; feeding off today's largely ignorant youth.
Incase you're wondering, I am Chinese but living/grew-up in Australia. And let me tell you that I'm not just saying that the Western youth are ignorant. The Chinese are just as much, if not more. These kids are growing up in a society with very heavily censored media. An alarming number of them really don't have any idea about the Tiananmen Square incident. Isn't it therefore incredibly injust to punish the entire nation eventhough most of the citizens are in the dark about what its government is getting up to? What I'm implying here is that I think the notion of 'embarassing China' by boycotting this year's Olympics is simply outrageous, if not childish. What distresses me mostly is that the "Free Tibet" campaign has been around for decades. Why was China given the initial right to host the Olympics at all then? Ofcourse, this is perhaps something the Chinese government brought onto themselves, but after all the millions(billions?) of dollars and resources spent on the preparation for the '08 Olympics, where is the sense in boycotting them?
Bleh, I think this rant is as much me being confused as me trying to make others more aware. I just hope that people are giving thought before they choose to put down their name for a "Free Tibet" facebook group or petition.
Peace.

i'm not trying to brainwash you so don't cyber-bite my head off
In other news, I've woken up to some good old fashioned Nirvana. So nostalgic. I feel like I'm 14 again. Cute! I remember when I thought Kurt Cobain was the hottest thing ever, even in his 10 years of decomposition. But then again James Dean hasn't been exactly 'fresh' since 1955 and I still manage to imagine eloping with him on his bike. Hm...whatever happened to our generation of men :( (bar Gaspard Ulliel)
Speaking of Gaspard Ulliel, I have finally gotten over the fact that he is NOT going to go to my year 12 formal. Very sad, I KNOW, but I've built myself an unstable bridge and gotten over it. In the last two days, I've managed to go through two dates (first one realised he infact couldn't come) and bought myself a dressy!

It's from Mad Cortes and I got it for $299 marked down from $599. =D
I think it might make me look a bit frumpy, but Jayne said it was "very Sunni" and we decided it was a good deal. I am quite certain that I couldn't have found a prettier dress for that price and I don't think anyone else from school would have bought this either(God forbid).
Hmm...so it appears this is the first 'diary' like blog entry I have written in a while. Sorry, but I just hadn't been really enjoying the last few weeks so would rather not wallow in it by writing about it. I hope you guys like youtube though =P

suppose... (VIII) by E. E. Cummings
suppose
Life is an old man carrying flowers on his head.
young death sits in a cafe
smiling, a pierce of money held between
his thumb and first finger
(i say "will he buy flowers" to you
and "Death is young
life wears velour trousers
life totters, life has a beard" i
say to you who are silent.--"Do you see
Life? he is there and here,
or that, or this
or nothing or an old man 3 thirds
asleep, on his head
flowers, always crying
to nobody something about les
roses les bluets
yes,will He buy?
Les belles bottes--oh hear
, pas cheres")
and my love slowly answered I think so. But
I think I see someone else
there is a lady, whose name is Afterwards
she is sitting beside young death, is slender;
likes flowers.

All girls should have a poem
written for them even if
we have to turn this God-damn world
upside down to do it.

Definitely. We should all write poems about the people we like, or at least draw little pictures of them. I imagine that there are very few people who wouldn't find that sweet, even if they are nonchalant on the outside.

Lo and behold - for if you look yonder, you will see the biggest photo entry this blog has yet encountered!
Basically, I borrowed a Pentax K1000 SLR camera from my school last weekend to do some experimenting for artclass and went a bit happy.
To cut a long story short, I spent way too much money on getting them developed/printed. I then had to import them onto my computer somehow so I could print off copies(etc.) for my art class workbook. Since I haven't seen my scanner since 2004 so I had to take photos of the photos and put them onto my computer and then crop them. So excuse the fact these photos are weirdly coloured and poor quality.
What the heck, I'll stop complaining and making excuses et voila:
I started off the first roll at my local area's annual festival. I was there for the school magazine reporting because our school's marching band were in the parade. This part is very boring, but bear with me because it does get slightly better.
Practising...they look pretty cute.
My old primary school, St. Annes, was also there. This is Alana's little brother. He goes to St. Annes and he had to dress up in 'old-fashioned school uniform'..
And here's Megan his sister looking equally charming.
It was always a risk taking photos of young 'uns with their parents around.
Part of the parade. Looks very exciting doesn't it...
I definitely should've joined the marching band back in year 7 when I had a chance.
After the unspectacular parade.
Coke. mm
I think I liked the shadows or something serious like that.
Should've fixed the white balance on this one in photoshop. But really, I have just cropped and resized 43 images, I need to get out there and have a life.
Tram photos are actually better than train photos.
On Sunday afternoon I went to Maddy's house to help her with her photoshoot. I took some shots aswell, sort of like preparation for a more down to business shoot that I am planning.
(Be warned that you are about to see a lot of photos of felines on chairs. I give you permission to yawn)
I liked the shadows cast by the chair or something because I'm gay. Obviously.
Compulsary self-portrait in reflective surface.
This looks a bit strange...but honestly, she was just taking off the jeans she was wearing under her dress because it was hot(as in temperature wise..)
Grassy toes.
Cute.
Cuterrrr!!!
Wasting film.
The kitty is so alarmed.
Somewhere around here I begin to get arty.
Finish.
I am quite tired, but tomorrow is last day of school. Gives me hope.
Good night and thanks for looking.

Burning piano (played by Yosuke Yamashita)
I just saw this on the news. Well, more specifically, the same pianist re-enacting this on a beach during sunset as a piece of performance art.
Rather cool I thought to myself. And by the way they use old unwanted pianos.

I Hate Easter. Yes, Hate with a capital H.
It's screwing up my school term so now I have only 7 and a half weeks this term and TWELVE weeks next term. Although I am eternally grateful that school will be over in 3 days and I have only 14 more classes(YESH), I'm going to be pissed and dying this time next term thinking about the 5 more weeks of school I would still have left. Oh and this time next term I'll be stressing about exams aswell. YAY! Merde.
So I was swearing at all the Christian folk for being autocratic and forcing THEIR tradition over us and basing MY school holiday over THEIR stupid Easter without MY consent. Then some random girl at school who's opinion I don't really care about said that it's not the Christians' fault because Easter is just extremely early this year due to the fact that it's based on the Lunar calendar. Well that's just besides the point. For all I care they can base it on Mary Magdalene's menstrual cycle as long as it doesn't affect ME. Yea it's all about me. This sacrilegous rant is really just about me.
(all this coming from a girl who goes to a Methodist school and would probably have to base her school Holidays around Easter even if the public school kids don't because she is A PART of the CRAZY CHRISTIAN FOLK)
Anyway. Since the world unfortunately revolves around the Lunar calendar rather than the SUNni calendar(Haha, pun. I'm brilliant), there's nothing I can do about the impending holidays. Actually I'm really excited about them so I'm going to make a list of the things I want to do because lists are fun and the world is governed by them.
Sunni's To-do List for the Holidays:
* Write up notes for Chemistry and Psychology.
* Read Chinese books.
* Re-read Catseye and Macbeth.
* Buy a formal dress/shoes/clutch and think about why I don't want to ask anyone to be my date.
* Do a photoshoot(or two) for art.
* Make a stop-motion for art.
* Design in more detail the 3-D garment thing I have in mind for art.
* Wear the beret which Gabby bought me as soon as it gets below 20 degrees.
* Watch "The Other Boleyn Girl".
* etc.
=D
This is getting rather long. I set out to write a fair bit though since my last few entries have been Youtube links and that makes me a mean blogger. Truth is I have not much to report unless you want to hear a daily dose of teenage emo angst. I already do that on MSN.
For those of you who like the photos which I sometimes sporadically post, I have 3 rolls of film waiting to be developed. I'll probably get them done tomorrow, but don't hold your breath. I am busy.

"Nothing Came Out" by the Moldy Peaches
My heart turned to mush when I heard this song so I thought I'd share with y'all and youtubed it. Funnily, this extremely random clip came up. And because I'm demented and sick, I quite like this video of this girl spewing turquoise stuff. It seems to work with the song...somehow..
Yerr...I'm a sick bastard.

don't hate me but if you must i don't blame you
I am feeling wather sad. =(
I've lost the drive to do anything, whether it be homework, reading, watching television shows or compulsively cutting my own hair. I am so tired but I don't want to sleep. Maybe this is insomnia's redheaded cousin. (Nothing against redheads)
There is so much to do, yet I do nothing. This doesn't make me stressed, or scared. Just really sad. And maybe disappointed aswell. I start having weird thoughts.
I was thinking just before about being swallowed whole by something with a very large mouth (ie. a blue whale - yes, I know they generally only eat plankton and have no teeth). I was imagining how long I could survive lodged in something's giant esophagus. Would it be me to suffocate and be squeezed to death first, or would the 'thing' choke and gag and die before I do? To stay true to my pessimistic disposition, I'll be realistic and say the scenario is probably biologically impossible anyway. This is not a very fun answer to my own question...
I posted a silly video on Youtube last night. I am a silly person.
=)
Why is there such a dichotomy between happy and sad? I don't want highs and lows, I'd rather just be apathetic forever. We should all wear our face like this:

温柔 - 五月天
Notice the girl with the pink hair. That's how I'm going to look when year 12 finishes. FREEDOM starts from the hair. You watch me.
35mm
Remember this? Well here's the result.
Jayne with her salad and her salad(double-exposure). And yes, that is electrical tape on the bench.
Playing with scissors and mutilating cameras. Woo!
Lemon tree double exposure shit. I think I definitely abuse my power to double expose.
Some poor woman on the tram getting her privacy intruded.
Old man in a magazine shop. Notice the Nylon magazine next to him...obviously a hipster and Cory Kennedy fan. Infact his shirt looks like something the Cobrasnake would wear. *judge*
Train...
Gabby outside Chinatown looking a little scared and with a piece of sky slicing half her face. Lovely.
Typical.
Coolest frame of the roll(taken by Gabby). That is a big juicy accidental light leak RIGHT ON TOP of my VISAGE. Devilish, dare I say...subliminal.
And that's really about it. The rest were even more red/cyan, light leaked, overlapped, under/over, double/multi exposed, messy and craplicious shit. I am now very used to photolab clerks telling me that they don't believe the film was exposed properly and they are enable to make a contact sheet or scan them. It's ok, I tell them. I'll scan them myself. And that I did.
FUN!
PS: My internet at home is in comatose aka fucking with me aka capped. It will be fixed soon though...I am living a half life without lovely lovely cyberspace.
